We have several framing options that do not make use of a glass cover. Solid hardwood frames are described below and less expensive but high quality Metal frames are also available. You can also order a flat mount print and purchase a frame elsewhere.
For this the print is first dry-mounted to black MightyCore board as with our other mounting options, then it is suspended to the front opening of the custom-made frame. From the figure you can see that the edge of the print is separated by a small distance from the frame, hence the term "floating frame". Our frames are hand-crafted from air-dried solid hardwood: black walnut, oak, or cherry. The frames are 1 inch wide by 1.5 inches deep and are sealed with Danish oil with a stain if you wish or natural.
New: We can now mount any of our print media as a gallery wrap and insert that into a
metal or wood frame. In this case the gap around the edge is larger and the print covers the edge of the board. Same price. See first example, below to the left. Click for detail view.
